After the school year coming to such an abrupt end last March 2020, the Irish Department have decided to give the incoming 2nd year students the best possible chance of taking Irish at a Higher Level for the Junior Cycle.
At the beginning of the term, students will remain in their tutor class for Irish & will be taught to a common level. Over this time, students will be assessed every week on their classwork. These assessments will decide whether students will be placed in a Higher or Ordinary Level class.
Over the first four weeks, students will be revising coursework from 1st year & will be assessed on this work. Over the next four weeks, students will be continuing with the 2nd year course & will be assessed on this work.
If students would like to pursue the Higher Level course for the Junior Cycle, we expect students to achieve a grade of 55% or above.
